Happy New Year!
For most families, today marks the end of the holiday season. This is traditionally the day to pack up the decorations, find homes for the gifts, and take down the tree. And if you’ve opted for a real tree, that raises the question of what to do with it. Thankfully, there are many ways to dispose of your tree that are convenient and friendly to the environment.
There are a number of tree chipping events and options here in the Tri-Cities. Before disposing of your tree be sure to remove all of the decorations and tinsel. Then find a solution that works for you:
Port Moody
Chipping is by donation, with a $5 minimum. Proceeds go to the Fire Fighters Burn Fund. Coffee, hot chocolate and vehicle vacuuming services are also available.

The City of Port Coquitlam even created this handy-dandy video about how to dispose of your tree in your green cart. Kudos to Councillor Darrell Penner on his first-rate performance. That man can wield a mean pair of clippers, I must say!
Here’s a handy map with all the locations and dates. Recycle your Christmas tree, the planet will thank you!
