Get your Hockey Fix in the Tri-Cities

Port Moody Hockey Tri-Cities

With the current lockout in the NHL, the end of the CFL season and a lack of other sports, it looks like December will be one dreary month. It’s grey, gloomy and very sad outside. If you find yourself to be one of those who are experiencing hockey withdrawal, you might want to turn to some local minor hockey for your fix. I have long ago noticed that nearly every week, there are many hockey games going on in the Port Moody Rec Centre.

Exciting Hockey in Port Moody

port moody coquitlam hockeyRecently I had a chance to watch one of the minor league Port Moody Panthers’ games against the Port Coquitlam Pirates (to clarify, the Black Panthers are Junior B, the Panthers are the minor hockey teams). The audience was full of parents, supporting their kids. Each time a player scored, no matter from which team, there were cheers and applause. As I was watching the game unfold, I started to get a feel for the game. It’s true these kids are not professionals, but that made it that much more exciting when the goalie made a save or when someone scored. As the game goes on and the numbers begin to appear on the scoreboard, the atmosphere intensifies. There is nothing more fun and exciting than joining in with the others to cheer for the action on the ice.
