What’s Happening in the Tri-Cities: Red Chamber, Port Moody’s Book Launch, Musical Mornings and More!

Red Chamber Evergreen Cultural Centre Coquitlam

If you haven’t heard the buzz yet, Port Moody is turning the big 100 this year!  Grab one of their new historical photo books at their book launch this Sunday and I can guarantee that after looking at pictures of PoMo’s days of past, you will not be able to drive through Port Moody and look at it the same way again.  Also happening this week is an all-female ensemble performing at Evergreen Cultural Centre that I was lucky enough to get a sneak-peak of at Evergreen’s Season Launch Party back in the fall.  Wine, comedy, a town hall and more will also fill your plate this week.  Enjoy!

Where:  Evergreen Theatre, 1205 Pinetree Way (map)
The skinny:  Those crazy kids from the Arts Club’s smash hit Sexy Laundry are back! And this time Henry and Alice are camping – sort of. Forced to examine their relationship in the tangles of the wilderness, including collapsing tents, uninvited guests and their own particular style of alfresco “cuisine”, they just might discover how to survive a true mid-life crisis.  Tickets: $39, $30 $15

Whether you’re looking for a quick introduction to be able to tell Pinot Noir apart from Shiraz, or if you are planning to travel further with your new found wine knowledge, this is the perfect way to begin!
