Spring Break camps for elementary and middle school age children are extremely popular here in the Tri-Cities. But what of the older students? Sure, they’re old enough to take care of themselves when school isn’t in session. But does that mean that they shouldn’t have access to great programming to expand and enrich their experience during Spring Break? The people at Place des Arts say No!, and we agree.
Get Serious Over Spring Break
This year Place des Arts is inviting students in grades nine through twelve to Study with the Pros during Spring Break. These full-day workshops in theatre, TV and film run March 25-28, 2013. The workshops are designed for serious students, and they’re taught by advanced professionals in the field. This gives teens the chance to develop or hone their skills at a pre-professional level. Class sizes are small, ensuring quality instruction, and all supplies are included. Plus, it really will just be a lot of fun.
Here’s the schedule for the Study with the Pros workshops:
- Monday, March 25, 2013 – Acting for the Camera with Cavan Cunningham, $53
- Tuesday, March 26, 2013 – Beating up Actors – Stage & Film Combat with Paul Gelineau, $60
- Wednesday, March 27, 2013 – Makeup for Stage & Screen with Katherine Collins, $120
- Thursday, March 28 – Directing for the Theatre with Kathryn Bracht, $50
